Amasa's actual burial location is at Memphis National Cemtery, Memphis, Tennessee. This photo is of a memorial placed in Cannon City Cemetery, by his wife and family, and is a Cenotaph (a memorial without a body buried beneath it). This stone states that Amasa Closson died at Helena, Arkansas Aug 1, 1864, aged 31 years, and 7 months, and that he served in Company C., 6th Minnesota Infantry, during the Civil War.
