Helen Lucille Jones Obituary

Interment will be in Haven of Memories Canton, TX. She passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 in Flower Mound, TX. Helen was born in Wills Point on March 17, 1933 to Lucille and Tommy Hawkins. During her early teens, she moved to Dallas with her parents and four siblings. She met Billy Jones, a Dallas Police officer, and they married on December 28, 1951. They raised their five children in the Catholic faith and were active members at St. Phillip’s Church and School in Dallas for many years. In 1992, upon her retirement from Southwestern Bell (AT&T), Helen returned to her east Texas roots on a small farm in Edgewood. She and Bill became active in St. Therese Catholic Church and enjoyed having their children and grandchildren visit the farm. After 53 years of marriage, Bill passed away in 2005, and Helen eventually returned to the Dallas area. She is survived by her Son, Philip & Trisha Jones, Son, Russell Jones, Son, Paul & Dana Jones, Daughter, Julie & Danny Gaither, Daughter, Joni & Alan Keach, 5 grandchildren, 1 Great-Granddaughter, Brothers Dempsey, Harry, & Roland, Sister, Alien, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and special family friends, Helmut, Anne, Hunter and Hannah Block. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary to follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton, TX.
